A story by Tanja

My story

One day last summer I was in the garden in front of our house. I was with my friends Laura, Luka, Hana and Katja. We were playing. Suddenly we heard something strange. It sounded very close. We went in the forest. It was scary. We found a man, he was screaming, he had a broken leg because he fell with parachate. He dangled on the branches. We called help very fast. He went to the hospital. We visited him in the hospital and we were talking a lot. A few weeks ago, he was OK and he went home. He was very thankful and we became good friends.

THE UFO !
Two years ago I went to the forest. It was winter. It was cold and there was half meter of snow. I was walking through the forest and snow for almost one hour, when I decided to have a break. I took my sandwich and tea from the rucksack and I had a snack. And then I heard a loud noise and I saw something big falling a few meters from me. I hurried to see what happened. When I came there I was shocked. It was an UFO and a small green alien! When he saw me, he walked towards me and said me in my language: Can you give me some food? I gave him my sandwich and some tea. He said thanks and jumped into the UFO and flew away. It was an amazing experience.

NATALIE 'S LOVE

It was a mild day. Natalie was getting up. She was a typical Slovenian girl. She was smart and nice. She had breakfast and got dressed. Then she went to school.

In the school she saw a new boy- Mark. He was so handsome. All of the girls were looking at him! Natalie fell in love in a second! But she was sure, he won't like her, because, there were a lot of pretty girls at school, so she wasn't looking at him any more and she wasn t thinking about him.

So, a few weeks were ok- she was studying and she wasn't thinking about Mark. But one day she was walking with some books in her hands when she crashed in Mark! She said »Sorry«, and looked in his eyes but in a second she turned away and left. Mark was surprised. He was thnking about Natalie. He thought »She is so pretty and kind. Maybe I love her…. I know what I must do!«

The next day, Natalie was so scared. She thought Mark didn't like her. And when she saw him she tried to go away but he stopped her and asked: » Natalie, will you go out with me?« Natalie was surprised, but she said »Yes!«

Then they fell in love, and Natalie was very happy.

THE INVASION

One day, when I woke up, I heard a noise coming from the back of the house. I went to find out what it was and I saw a flying pyramid, landing on Lubnik.
When it landed I saw millions of soldiers in heavy grey armors and sticks in ther hands. They kneeled facing towards the pyramid. And then I saw him. The great Egyptian sun god, Ra. He was in gold clothing and looked evil. Suddenly he said: “Jaffa Kree” and then their bombers and fighters planes started flying around and foot soldiers formed groups and started to take people from their homes and in to the mothership.
Ra just smiled and said in a very strange voice: “Now you are doomed! You're my slaves, and no one can stop me!”

A story by Maja

One day, last autumn I was going to Romania. I was with my friend Ajda. When we came to Romania we stayed in a small local tavern. Near this tavern there was a Draculaꞌs castle. Some people thought that Dracula was still alive. But we didn't believe this made up story. Our hosts were very mysterious. They never went out to light, they lived in the dark and they didn't have many guests or friends. A few hours later we had dinner. Everything was okay until we got a red dessert. We asked one of them what was that. He answered:"These are biscuits made from blood. He had a very scary face. He started laughing. We were very scared. We ran to our room and we hid in the corner. We heard knocking on the window and crunching from door hinges. After that we saw two hunched shapes. They turned on the lights. They started laughing. They were our hosts. They told us that, this is a local attraction in this village. We woke up next day. Then we went to Draculaꞌs castle. We had a great time. Now we knew that Drakula is dead.

About friendship by Klara

ABOUT FRIENDSHIP.

For me the most important things in friendship are: Trust, truth, respect and honesty. I think friends are one of the most important thing in life, they help you to make decisions, they make you smile every day. Many of people think that you can have only one true best friend but I don't think like that. I think every person can have more than one best friend. If you have more than one best friend, they can tell you diffrent opinion of something and it is easier to decide. Friends are very important in life. Without friends our lives would be empty, hard and lonely.

We had a school trip and the teacher gave us worksheets to write during the trip. First we went to a mine, where we learned about the history of the mine and how it worked. Then we went around the town and the guide told us about its history. After a while we returned to the bus. Then we went to a lake and the guide told us about the lake. After that we went to an old hospital called Franja where we had lunch. After that we learned about the history of it and we looked around the houses. After that we gathered at the busses and got ready to leave. I took us about an hour to get back.

POLICE ACEDEMY

There are eight films called Police Acedemy. They all talk about police officers who always have some problems with criminals or bad police officers. It is very funny because the police officers make fun of their stupid boss Harris. In one part they give him some glue instead of shampoo when he takes a shower. His hands get stuck to his hair. I like the officer who makes funny noises.

REVIEW: TOP GEAR
My all time favourite TV series is Top Gear which is hosted by Jerremy Clarckson, James May and Richard Hammond. It's the best and the funniest car show on TV, and I watch it nearly every week. In almost every episode they review some cars, have funny and interesting events happen and they put a star in their reasonably-priced car. The hosts are all funny and very critical to some of the cars which end up destroyed at the end of the episode. The series is shown on BBC channels so watch it! You'll enjoy it.

HOLIDAYS
The holidays are near. For one week we willl go to the seaside. I can't wait to see friends I met years ago. For swimming it is too early, because the water is too cold.
During the day you usually hang out in the camp and in the evening we go to the town Novigrad or get some games. Sometimes we go in the neighboring camp, where children whose parents can not afford a vacation stay. Last year there saw some children from our school. But this week will soon be gone and we will again be able to sit for the school

DIVORCE
A lot of people are trying to figure out how you feel when your parents are divorced.
I know a lot of people that know the kind of feeling including myself.
My best friend has divorced parents too. We almost have the same life. We like the same things, we have the same style, opinion, family, past…
Now I'm gonna tell you about it, so others will know how we see the world.
If your parents got divorced before you were born, I guess it isn't so bad, since you don't really have family memories. My family got divorced when I was 9 years old. I still remember the good times that we spent on the seaside, when we went skiing, swiming, hiking… But we never had the family that we wanted to have.

I'm OK with being with my mom and not with my dad.
I never want to get my family back together and I'm happy to stay like this. All I want is to have my sister and my brother with me all the time, because I love them too much to let them go.
I just want everyone to feel good about their life, even if they sometimes feel down or they might feel used. I love my family no matter what, and you should too!

A story by Petra

BEYOND THE MIRRORS
In a busy town there were a lot of flats. In one of these flats a young teenager named Anne lived. She really liked spending time watching herself in the mirror.
Every time she got up she looked at herself in the mirror as many girls do. When Anne came home she did the same. And the same when she got in her bed. Many times she just talked to her reflection in the mirror. About her life, decisions and everything that it was on her mind.
But she never thought that beyond her mirror there was another world. People were the same as we and their job was to be our reflection that we see it in the mirrors. But people weren't the same as people who looked in the mirror. And everyone had their own man who covered our piciture. Those people walked in a special rooms that were beyond mirrors. There was a whole building of these rooms. Every room had a window that we thought it's our mirror. Well it was a mirror from our side. But what they saw it was a glass and a person who stood in front of the mirror. It was easy for them to folow our movements.

So Anne had a mirror-man called Marlin. He was middle aged and he didn't enjoy his job. Although he saw Anne he was just tired of all people that he covered in his long life. He was 140 and still not old.
But there was a young man called Jack. He didn't have parents and he lived in this building. He walked from a room to a room and he loved watching people beyond the mirrors. Especially Anne. Marlin didn't care about that. He didn't care about the boy spending time watching Anne in the same room that he covered her reflection. Actually he liked talking to him during his work.

One day Marlin didn't come to work. Jack was worried but there was nothing he could do. And in the morning when Anne got up she was terrified because she she didn't see herself in the mirror. There was nothing just the wall behind her. She thought she's going out of her mind or perhaps she's invisible. But in school her friends talked to her normally and nobody noticed that there's no Anne's reflection in the mirrors.
When she came back home she went in the bathroom. Still there was no reflection in the mirror. She was desperate and she threw soap into the mirror and it broke. Beyond the broken mirror she saw a room and there was a boy in it. Jack looked at her. She fell in love immediately. Like in a love story. From now on she lived with him, watching faces and people beyond the mirrors. They even figure it out who is that Bloody Mary that people are scared of. Actually she was a friendly old woman and from time to time they ate cookies withher. Anyway everything was just fine.

In our school there are a lot of talented schoolchildren.
We came together during the third weekend in March. The place where we have created a new story was at our subsidiary school Lenart. The base of this new story were four very famous fairy tales: Lion King, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Goldilocks and Tarzan. We have created a totally new story with the same characters. The whole group has been divided into three groups. The first group wrote a text, teh second group dramatized it and the last one drew a cartoon of it. I participated in the cartoon team. There had a lot of fun and we created a very nice cartoon.
Of course, there we weren't alone. Two teachers came with us. In our free time, we played basketball a lot. We helped our teachers to prepare food for all of us. They cooked very good. A big thanks goes to our teachers, who prepared everything we needed for such an event.
This was a great experience for all of us. And the results will be shown also in our school newspaper Macesen. Don’t miss it, it is coming soon!

I've seen I Hate Valentine's day four times now . I love it! It's funny and romantic. At the beginning of the film,a florist Genevieve Gernier belives that the best way of beautiful love is to never go on more than five dates with the same man. She loves Valentine's day. But when Genevieve meets Greg everything changes. At the end of their fifth date, Genevieve wants more. She falls in love and she hates Valentine's day. My favourite actress is Genevieve, because she's funny and romatic person. She has got very beautiful personality and dresses nicely.

Life on Mars
Nobody knows if there is life on Mars. Well, I do. I had a friend who told me. He disappeared 3 months ago so I decided to go to look for him in space. I looked everywhere but I couldn’t find him. Then I said I will look on planet Mars.
I landed on Mars and then I looked around. I decided to go for a walk and when I came to the other side of the Mars I saw a secret city. There were shops, markets, houses ... just like on the Earth. There were all kinds of aliens and their leader was my friend Jhon. I asked him what is all this and he said he created this city so we can be friends with aliens. I was a little scared but I got over it. I asked Jhon if I can tell the aliens about the Earth and other planets but he said if they find out the Earth exists they will destroy it. I offered Jhon a ride home but he said he will stay on Mars. He said that I mustn't tell anyone. I agreed and then I went home. I still miss him.

When we landed, we decided to go to New York City. There we saw a lot of local sights. We saw the Statue of Liberty too. At 9pm we went to the local hockey stadium, where played New York and Los Angeles with Slovenian hockey player Anže Kopitar. His team unfortunately lost by 3:4. Kopitar scored two goals. After the match I got his autograph. Then we went by ship to UK, in London. There we saw the stadium of my best football club, FC Chelsea. We went on London Eye too, where we saw whole city. SPECIAL DWARF
Once upon a time there lived a dwarf called Poki. It wasn't an ordinary dwarf, he was something special. It was afraid of flowers. One day a family Hudgens went to the shop and saw a beautiful dwarf. They bought it. But they didn't know that this dwarf was afraid of flowers.
When a baby girl named Britney saw it she was thrilled. She played with Poki inside during the day. But in the evening she put it into the garden and went in the house to have dinner. Then Poki realized that it's in the middle of flowers, so it decided to escape into the house through a window.
In the morning Britney started to cry, because she couldn't find her dwarf. The family was looking for it all day. Next day they found Poki in the house, so they apologized to their neighbours because they had thought they stole the dwarf. The family was wondering what was wrong with the dwarf. So they took it to a vet to check it. A veterinarian found that the dwarf was afraid of flowers. Then the family realized why Poki had been in the house. Now Poki is located in the kitchen to decorate it.

A TRIP TO PROVENCE

Last summer my family and our relatives went to Provence. Provence is a landscape on south of France. We travelled by our car. We visited four countries, a lot of cities, and some beautiful villages. We stayed in six different hotels. In Provence we stayed for ten days.
We didn't visit just Provence, we visited Monaco too. I most liked Monaco and lavander's fields in Provence.
Lavander's fields are very beautiful and they are the most famous feature in Provence. Almost everywhere we drove we saw them.
The most beautiful town I saw was Rousillion. It is ochre colour and it is on the hill. They excavate ochra in near hill. It is very colorful city with a lot of shops and a lot of little bars. The streets are small and narrow. On the top there is a square with church.
We saw Parc naturel regional de Camargue too. We drove by boat Tiki 3. We saw a lot of horses and brown herons.
I most enjoyed in Monte Carlo. It's a very nice and rich city with a lot of expensive cars. It has a big palace and we saw changing of the guard. We had fun. We saw the aquarium too.
After an expensive lunch we visited the greatest casino in Europe - Casino Monte Carlo. In front of the casino there were a lot of expensive and sport cars. We saw some famous people. We spent a realy good time in Monte Carlo and we didn't want go home.

ALIENS

It was a normal day in a small town called Škofja Loka. A boy was playing with his friends. They were playing football, when suddenly one of them saw something in the sky. It was a spaceship and it was flying straight to them. They ran away, but the boy fell over a branch. Aliens flew to him. The boy was afraid and they were very ugly. When aliens came to him, he sneezed at them. Aliens were starting to shake and slowly started turning to dust. Everybody looked at him and the boy was very happy because he saved the town from aliens. Journalists were coming from all over the world to see and interview him. He became very famous but he still behaved like a normal boy and almost every day he played with his friends.

My journey around the world by Mira

Around the world
I decided that I will go across the world with my friend.

EUROPE
First we cycled to Italy, to Rome. We saw Amphitheatrum Flavium and we ate real Italian pizza. It was delicious. Next week we took a plane to Etiopia.

AFRICA
We landed in Addis Abeba. Beautifull city with friendly people. They have interesting culture. Then we went to Somalia by jeep. In Kismaayo we took a kayak and we rowed to Pemba Island. It took us a week. After three days we went to Madagascar by boat. There we met some people. Two of them wanted to go with us. Me and my friend agreed. We took a plane to India in Antananarivo.

ASIA
We landed in Mumbai. In Slovenia there was winter and there was summer. When we landed it was rainning. We were very disappointed. Next day it was rainnig too, so we decided we will move to Australia.

AUSTRALIA
We came to Sydney. It was Christmas time but there was sunny and warm. Me and my friend were surfing. It was exciting.
We spent two weeks here. Friends from Africa decided to go home by plane. So me and my old friend took a plane to Cuba.

CENTRAL AMERICA
We landed in Havana. Many people there are poor but they don't think that. They think Europeans are all rich. Cuba is a real paradise. Me and my friend spent here more time then we planned. After a month we took a boat to Canada.

NORTH AMERICA
We came to Toronto. We slept in a hotel. Next day we went to Greenwood Avenue by bus.
We decided to visit my relatives.

Gilmo's day
Once upon a time in a jungle lived a small monster called Gilmo. It had blue fur, blue eyes, two small ears and a long tail. Because its family did not live with it, it was very lonely.
Every day Gilmo woke up at five o'clock. For breakfast it ate small spiders and flies. Then Gilmo played with snakes and cockroaches. Its best friend was an anaconda.
Every day at 3 o'clock it had lunch and then a long nap. Gilmo never ate dinner, it only drunk plant oil. At midnight Gilmo went to bed. Its favourite lullaby was a strange voice from the jungle. Gilmo dreamt almost every night about its family. Gilmo missed its family a lot and every morning it woke up in tears.
This is Gilmo's day and each day is the same, even today's.

A long time ago, there was a little girl called Barbara. Then some night she had beautiful dreams about some country at the end of the world. There were a lot of animals and good people. They all loved each other until somebody called Gustavo came to that place and started to cut down the trees. He cut trees becuse he wanted money. The people didn't know where all the trees were because Gustavo cut them at night. And then this little girl Barbara saw him and she started to talk about him. In this country all the citizens started a resistance against him. Then they sent him far far away, and he never came back. Now all the trees grew back and there is peace again.

MY TRAVELLING STORY
Hi. My name is Ana and I'll describe my travelling story.
At first I lived in Škofja Loka, Slovenia and I really enjoyed living there. I had a lot of friends. When I was 12 we moved to Barcelona, Spain. I liked the town but I didn't know anybody so I spent most of time at home with my brother and parents. I had to speak English everywhere. Luckily we were there just during the summer holidays so I haven't had any problems with meeting new people in school. But we moved again and there became problems again…
After 2 months living in Barcelona we moved to Vienna, Austria. I spoke a bit of German but not good enough so I had to speak English again. I got new friends very fast but I didn't like the town because it was too grey. I've been at international school so I had Enlish lessons. At first it was very difficult to understand everthing but it got better and better. I got on very well with my schoolmates. Some of them were French, some of them were British and there was also an Asian, from Japan. Nearly two years passed and we had to move again. I was very unhappy because I had a lot of great friends. But when my dad told me where we were going I wasn't so unhappy anymore.
We moved back to Slovenia, this time to Koper. I enjoyed living in home country but it was different. When I was a foreigner everbody helped me but this time I had to help the others. There are a lot of immigrants from Italy, so we had to help them living in a foreign country. It was a very good experince, at home and in other countries. I miss my old friends a bit. I hope we won't move again because I really like living here.

ABANDONED VILLAGE

It was a sunny day. One of the hottest this year. But not for me. I was resting in the shadow of an old tree. And suddenly the shadow was gone. I looked up and I did not see the leaves. That was very strange. I looked up again and saw something strange- it was a blue light. I do not remember anything else.
I woke up in a village. It was dark and dirty. It looked like it was abandoned. I decided to find a church. It was nearby. I walked in and found a trapdoor. I opened it and climbed down the ladder and found people. They were terrified. They told me their sad story. I travelled back in time (it was year 829). They were under attack. Evil king destroyed their village and they were hidden here for weeks. I decided to save their village. We climbed up the ladder and looked around the village. Noone was here, so I told them they can rebuild the village. I even helped them. And in 3 months a lovely village was made. When the village was completely repaired, a strange blue light sent me back. But the old tree wasn´t there. I found a small village.

A book review by Matjaž

Some time ago I read a book by Arto Paasilinna. The title was "Dedu za petami". I read three books by this author, but this one was the best. The main character was a grandfather who got tired of listening to his wife, so he ran away. He went on a long journey acrros Finnland. He had many interesting adventures. The grandmother was afraid for him, so she sent her grandson after old man. The grandson followed in his grandfather's steps, but couldn't catch him. In the end, he found his grandfather and they tavelled together before they returned home.

MOVING TO AMERICA
It’s already been a month since I moved from Slovenia to NYC. I remember how nervous I was, when I got on the plane. I was also very excited and happy because I knew I was starting a new life there. It had been quite a big change for me, because I've lived in Slovenia my whole life and New York is very different. It’s a lot bigger and busier and louder. I live in a nice, small flat near the Central Park, so I can hear the busy traffic all day and night.
I still don’t know many people here and I feel a bit lonely. The only people I know are a few of my neighbours and my boss. I work in a small comic bookstore near my home. It’s right at the end of the street. Inside, there are hundreds of shelves and stands filled with old and new comic books. There are also some action figures for sale in the corner. I spend a lot of time reading the comic book because there’s not many costumers during the day. Most of them come in the evening.
Every morning, I go jogging in the Central Park. The first time I went there, I couldn’t believe how bit it was. There are so many trees and small paths leading the way between them. I almost got lost there one time. In the middle of the park, there’s a big lake. It’s beautiful. I can’t wait until summer, so I can spend hot days near the lake and dip my feet in the water.
I moved to New York full of expectations and dreams and they all came true, so I’m very happy here. I rarely miss home, though I will never forget it.

I LEFT MY HOME

When I was a child we lived in Slovenia. I had a lot of friends and I liked my school. Then when I was 12 my parents decided to move to Germany. It was really shocking for me and I was sad. I had to say goodbye to all of my friends and I knew I was never going to see them again unless we came back to Slovenia. My parents told me that we are going to Germany in March. So three months later all my things were in the boxes and we were ready to leave. It was really hard at first. I didn't know anybody, I didn't understand the language they were speaking and I missed my home. But after a while I've got used to it. We've been here for 3 years now. I've got some new friends and I've learned their language. It's much easier now, but sometimes I still think about Slovenia. My parents promised me that we're going to visit our relatives in Slovenia, so I'll be able to see my friends again. Sometimes I wonder if they still remember me. I send e-mails to my closest friends every weak, but it isn't the same.
It's true that I really miss my friends, but life here is very good now. I like this town and the people are nice. Who knows, maybe I'll stay in Germany when I grow up.

NIGHT BOARDING ON STARI VRH
I like boarding with my friends. When we had winter holidays my brother Lenart, my friend Lenart, his brother Blaž and I went to ski resort Stari vrh. We really enjoyed ourselves, but time went too quickly. We went to drink tea in the cottage on top of the ski resort. It was 10:00 pm, when we came in. We didn’t know the lights of ski resort switch off at 10:15 pm. We stayed at cottage too long and the lights on the top of the hill were switched off, but we didn’t know that. When we drank our tea, we left the cottage. We stepped out and we saw a dark night without any lights. We had to come to the bottom of the hill, where Blaž and Lenart’s father was waiting for us. We didn’t see anything, but we started our scary but really exciting boarding. We were boarding in the dark and suddenly we saw the light at the end of the ski resort. They were still shining and we felt better after that. We came to the end and we were happy that everything ended great.

We had our fourth school dance on 14th March and it was organized by the ninth grades. We come at half past five. Many of our classmates have already been there. When it started it was crazy fun. Music was okay because DJs were Edi and Anže. To eat and drink, it was enough. Then come more pizza and we sold the lights. It was soon over and we went home. I think that was the best dance of all.

On Thursday 14th March, nine-graders at our school organized their fourth and the last school dance. The dance was well attended. The majority of upper class pupils came. The party was great and the DJ's music selection was really good. Even the light effects were such as in a real disco club. A good snack and drinks were also arranged. It is also important that with the entrance fee pupils collected quite a lot of money. With this money the school helps to organize trips for students. School dance was a real success. We can only say that we recommend it and advise all schools if they still don’t have it to allow the organization of such activities. It is fun and beneficial at the same time.

A few of days ago I and my grandparents went to visit their friends in Prekmurje. It was very early when we left Kranj where my grandparents live. We drove on the highway for a long time. They served us delicious cookies. They have many cats too. I played with the youngest. It was very funny because it was falling all the time. I asked them if I can take cat home. They shouted:"Of course you can!" I was so happy. When we left the friends they gave me a big chocolate and they wished me a lot of fun with the cat. We sad goodbye and drove home. Terme 3000
It was in February. Me and my family went to Terme 3000 in Moravske Toplice. I was very happy, because we had winter holidays in school. My aunt and her family went with us. We lived in an apartment. The weather was bad. There was 20cm of snow. It was snowy and rainy. We swam, dived and went down the slide. Mum and dad went to sauna every day. My cousin is younger than me and my brother and he can’t swim. He had arm bands for swimming. There were a lot of different swimming pools with very hot water. Our holidays went so quickly and we had to go home.

My journey around the world by Andrej

A journey around the world
First I went to Great Britain. In Britain I saw the London Eye, Big Ben and English Parliament. Then I went to Spain. There I saw La Sagrada Familia and fottball stadium Santiago Bernabeu. From there I flew to Canada. In Canada I saw beautiful Victoria falls and CN Tower. I went to Alaska. There it was too cold. So I went to Australia. There I saw a lot of dangerous animals: cobras, crocodiles, spiders, sharks. I saw frendly animals too : koalas ,cangaroos, wombats, emus. I went to New Zealand. There were a lot of kiwis. That is a small bird with wings, but it can´t fly. I flew to Japan. In Japan I saw Tokyo. Tokyo is the biggest city in Japan. Then I went home. When I came home I was happy to be home.

My journey around the world by Polona

My journey around the world
Yesterday I came back from my journey around the world and I decided to write a journal.
I started my journey early in the morning. I drove to Venice and stayed there for two days. During my stay I got together with my pen friend, who showed me the city and some of the sights. It was hard to leave, but I had so much more to see. In the evening I flew to Paris, the most romantic city in Europe. The hotel I stayed at was small but clean and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best, so I didn’t go to the Eiffel Tower. The city made me breathless, especially The Champs Elysees. I stayed in Paris for five days.
My next destination was the capital of England, London. When I was there I was robbed. Someone stole my wallet but luckily I didn’t have my passport in it. However, the city was beautiful and full of history so I wasn't bored.
After a week in London I jumped on the plane and flew to New York and stayed there for 4 days. I'm never going to forget the lights in Times Square and the view from the Rockefeller center.
My lifetime dream came true when I rented a car and drove all the way from east to west coast. The in some of the states I stayed for a couple of days. When I arrived to Chicago I continued the road trip on Route 66. The states that I liked the most were Ohio, Chicago, Oklahoma, Santa Fe, and Los Angeles.
From there I flew to Auckland, New Zealand. The nature of the country was very inspiring.
I couldn’t go home without visiting Sydney, Australia. The city is a mixture of different cultures and nationalities and I very liked it there.
I didn't go China because the weather was horrible. I flew directly to Moscow, Russia and from there I went straight home.
Overall it was an amazing experience and I think everyone should do something similar if it's possible.

DEADLY CAKE

Meet the twins- George and Martin. Their surname is Devil and as the surname tells us, they are really horrible. They are always in trouble. Yesterday it was a really special day in their family because it was their father's birthday. And when somebody has birthday in their familly they always bake him a chocolate cake. And yesterday was no different. But yesterday mum allowed the twins to bake a cake. But something went wrong. When it was time to add sugar they added salt. When it was time to add butter they added mayonaisse and when it was time to add chocolate baking powder they added- oh my god!!!- black pepper. Then they were laughing too much and their mum came downstairs. But George said that Martin told him a funny joke and that is why they were laughing. When the cake was ready they decorated it and then they waited for father. But the twins said that they must do their homework. Of course they were lying because they knew what would happen when father ate a piece of cake. So they could just wait. But finally father came home from work. When he came to the house, of course everyone wanted to congratulate him. But first he asked where the twins were and if they did something wrong today. But mum said that they were upstairs doing their homework and that they were good today. And then she said to him that he must eat a piece of cake before others. He really tried it but the next moment he was spitting it all over the floor. When he drank a glass of water he started to shout: »What kind of cake is this?! Are you trying to kill me?!« but mum said to him that the twins prepared the cake not them. And after this, father knew what was going on in this house.

About Friendship 2

Writing about friendship
Friendships are some of the beauful moments that happens in our life.
When you have a good friend you are full of energy, you have someone to talk to and you have someone to laugh with.
But for good friendship you need a lot of time .
In my opinion the most important thing in friendship is honesty.
You can't be friends with someone who lies to you all the time .
I dont like people who think and care just for themselves.
Usualy you have some really close freinds from your childhood, because friendship is based on everyday moments that bring you closer each day, but sometimes some people who you have just met, turns to be in the right place at the right time with who it fells naturally to be your friend.
I think, that it is very important that you do nice things for a friend every day.
For example you : help him to do homework,
go buy him icecream,
help him when he is in trouble
….
What am I trying to tell you is that with friendship there is a lot of obligation,
but there are twice of happy moments for sure too.
I like my friends and I am ready to do anything for them.

My favourite TV show by Martin

REVIEWS – TV
Every day at 6.30pm I watch a very interesting series called Ultimate survival. This series shows us how to behave in the wild. Bear Grylls and his team (Bear and cameraman) are sent into the extreme places with extreme weather and extreme conditions as Alaska, Siberia, rainforest, Sahara desert,…
Bear Grylls was serving in the British Army where he learned about life in the wild. He has already climbed the highest mountain in the world - Mount Everest (8848 m).
This series is very interesting because they show us how can we find water in desert, make fire with wood, find and catch food (fish, rabbit, snakes,…) and how to prepare it for eating. For me the most interesting thing is, when he makes a shelter.
Don t miss it! Every day at 6.30pm on Discovery Channel!

A new life

A new life

I moved to Rome four weeks ago. Me and my family left our old house in Slovenia. At first I was lonely, because I left my school, friends, neighbours. I think, that it is a great chance of a new life. I met a new friend called Vincenzo Benito. Rome is a very beautifull city. My new school is great and the teachers are nice. I am learning Italian. I am very interested in learning about Italian history. Everyone is so nice to me. Sometimes I go shopping with my new friends and chat with them. I really like walking in the streets at night. I am having a great time. I hope we won't have to move again.

An interview with my grandmother

I interviewed my grandmother Anka Brglez and asked about her memories of her childhood in Stara Loka.

Were you born in Stara Loka?
Yes, I was born in 1953 in a house where I am living now.
What was life like in Stara Loka in those days?
There weren’t so many houses here, but there were a lot of farms and fields. People were friendlier in those days. My parents were farmers, so we had enough food, but most families starved.
What’s your most vivid childhood memory?
I was three years old. I helped my mum on the field. I was tired and mother put me on the big basket. I was bored so I started swinging in the basket. The basket stood at the top of hill. Suddenly the basket started rolling down the hill. It stopped one meter from the water. Everybody told me that I’m very lucky.
What do you particularly remember about that times? We lived on the farm and I worked a lot of time. My favourite day was Sunday. In the morning we went to mass and then children played outside until the evening.
Do you think children were happier when you were young?
Yes and no. We didn't have electricity, modern cars and mobile telephones. We went to the school in the morning and worked on the farm until the evening. Today school is very important, but when I was young we didn’t care about school. We didn't have a lot of homework. When I was young I was really happy, but a lot of children weren’t. They didn't have food and they were very hungry.

Two stories by Katja

THE MYSTERY MAN
It was a winter afternoon and children were making a snowman. They were staying in the house wich was in country, and all alone. it was quite a distance to the nearest village. In the evening, after dinner they were sitting by the fireplace and drinking warm tea. Suddenly Joe wanted to close curtains but he saw a man standing near their snowman. He was standing still that children wouldn't see him. He told that to his friends but they didn't believe him. They said, who woud watch them in such a remote place. They still looked trough the window but they didn't see anyone. But he could swear that someone stood there motionless and watched them. Nick remembered why Joe come to the window - to close curtains. He did this instead of Joe. But Joe remembered that when he saw the man and he hung up a cup of tea. He forgot it at the window sills. He opened the curtains but something caught his attention. At the window was standing the man, wich he saw by the snowman. He screamed out laud. Sue and Peter watched this from a table by the fireplace. They called the housewife who was staying with them in the house. She ran from the kitchen and when the guy saw an adult he ran away. They locked all doors and windows and they went to bed terrified. Sue hugged her dog, the others hugged their pillows and soon they were all asleep.

A HOUSE IN THE WOODS

It was a sunny day and Sue, John, Mark and Gaby were going on a little trip. They wanted to go in woods where there is a little house. It belongs to Gaby's family. They walked for 45 minutes or half hour and they already could see the house. It was very old and alone. Nobody of them knew what that little old house can keep inside. It was getting dark and they lit the fireplace so that they would sleep in a warm house. Soon they all fell asleep. But suddenly, in the middle of the night Sue heard some voices.. there were two man saying something she didn't hear. They were getting closer to the house. ''They can't see us'', she said to herself. She ran to the beds of her friends and woke them up. The house was old so it has a lot of secret places. The voices were getting closer, so there wasn't a lot of time to think where to go. They were running upstairs, because there was no other way out except the front door but there were robbers or whatever. Soon they heard a key in the lock and the door opened. The man were talking about money and gold watch they stole and the women they killed. If they saw the kids they would probably kill them too. They moved some things and tooe the money, gold and murder weapon. They decided to burn this house down. A couple years ago they hid a body here. They set fire but they didn't know about the kids upstairs. They already wanted to go but suddenly one of the strangers fell in to the fire, the other wanted to save him but he fell too. They both died. The kids jumped out of the window and ran away to tell the police. They decided that they will build a new house but closer to home and away from danger.

Friendship 1

ABOUT FRIENDSHIP

For me, the most important thing in friendship is trust and truth. I think the best friends help you in any situation. Some people think that you can have just one best friend, but I don't agree. I think you can have two or more best friends. I think you must have some best friends. If you don't have friends you are lonley. Friends are very important in life, because they make you happy, if you are sad.

A story by Zala

A DIFFRENT CHRISTMAS STORY

Let me tell you a story. It was a long time ago on the main street in London. The children were singing, and people were hurrying around to buy presents. It was snowing, Christmas was coming, so people were really happy. Yes, you are right, it was Christmas night. Shall we look to the other side of the ocean. Was there as pleasant atmosphere as in England?
In Germany there was a boy called Pete. He was sitting on the plane and looking at the world under him. He was flying home from his German grandmother to London alone. He was only ten years old, but he was not afraid. He knew that he would be home next morning and that many presents would be waiting for him. Then he fell in sweet sleep. When the time was about two a.m. the plane began to shake. Pete fell from the chair and hurt his head. He only saw a strange light…
He woke up in hostital and saw doctors and all his family around him. They told him that he had an accident on the plane. Many people died in this accident, but Pete was the only boy who survived. And if you ask Pete about accident today, he will say to you:
"It was a little diffrent Christmas and it wasn't boring."
