strange dreams

STRANGE DREAM
One day, I was walking across a big desert. Everything was OK, but then I saw a polar bear. A polar bear in the desert! When I looked at it, I was scared. I stopped walking. It was very hot in the desert and I was very thirsty and exhausted. In the distance I saw some water and a shade. I started running towards that place. I was running and running, but there wasn`t anything. From the fatigue I had mirages. The bear was still here. Then some strange things started happening to me. I saw fireworks, my school and a big shopping centre and immediately it started snowing. The desert began shaking and rotating around. Suddenly I heard ‘boooom’. After that some strange animals started to appear: a mamut, a whale, a seal and at the end a zombie. I was very scared.
Then I woke up. That was only a dream, what a relief.

SURVIVAL !

One day in 2006 we were travelling to Sri Lanka by a cruise ship. There were two thousand passengers on the ship. It was a wonderful day, the sun was shining and we were near the coast.
We could see a beautiful city and long beaches from the ship. We were very exciting. In the morning we had breakfast after that we went swimming in the pool. Around one o'clock we had lunch. In the afternoon we were watching animals in the sea from board.
The ship was very big, it had two pools, a sauna, a casino, a disco and a cinema. The travelling was very expensive.
The next day we were in our room. At three o'clock the captain told us that there were some problems with electricity. All the people were very scared. We wanted to leave the room but the door didn't open. Soon the room was full of water. We were screaming. In the room there were no widows. Then we took fire-extinguisher and crashed the door. We saw emergency exit sign. We ran out. There was a crowd of people.
Life boats were full of people therefore we jumped in the water. Then we swam to the coast. When we were near the coast, the ship sank.
A lot of people died that day, but we didn't.

January challenge

This month's task was to write a thank you letter to an elderly aunt who usually gives rather unusual Christmas presents. The idea is from a book Writing Games by Charles and Jill Hadfield.

Dear aunt!
It was a sunny Friday when I saw the postman coming towards our house. I went out and saw a nice box. The postman sad »Your aunt sent you a present.« I was surprised when I heard this. I said thank you and goodbye to postman and I ran back to house and open it. I can ´t explain how happy I was when I saw the gift so I want to say thank you for it. This dustpan and a small broom are really cool and I enjoy using them. It is so funny to sweep the kitchen. I sweeped our living room and bathroom too.
I didn´t expect you to send me a present like this, but I know I will use it in the future and I´m sure that our house will always be clean.
Lenart Megušar

Dear aunt,
I want to write you a little note to thank you for the lovely picture you gave to me. I have it on the wall in our living room, and everyone looks at this picture. It's fascinating. I look at it every day and I know how much I miss you. Thank you again. You could not have picked out anything more perfect.
Anže Koblar

Dear aunt!
I am so gratefull, that you could come to our family dinner. It was great, wasn’t it? But the highlight of the night for me was of course the presents. When I opened yours, I found a book called Teach Yourself Latin. I love your gift, because I planed to learn Latin and next year we have the subject of it in school. So, I’m very thankful for your gift, it will help me a lot. Thanks!
Urška Mavrič

Dear aunt!
I want say thank you for the book that you sent me for Christmas, but I don't understand its title. A Short History of the Roman Empire? Short? I think that book with 150 pages is anything more than short. Even though I hate history I will try to read it. Maybe it is interesting and educational. But on the other way it will be nice to have it on my shelf. But on the other way I may have an exam or homework about the Roman Empire. I was realy surprised when I got this book but also very happy that you are thinking about me. But next time I would like to get a book about crime or a love story.
Klara Kovačič

Dear aunt,
I am writing to you because I would like to thank you for your Christmas gift. Immediately after Christmas I hung the light in my room and everybody said that is wonderful. At the beginning I was disappointed with your gift. You were a bit sad because at the beginning I didn’t like your gift. After I hung the light in the room I liked it very much. So thank you again for the gift. I hope you also liked my gift.
yours Eva Oblakovič

Dear aunt,
the karate book that you sent me was a stupid present, that I don´t need. When I saw it, I was rather disappointed. Next year you can give me anything else and I will be happy.
Anže Jemec

Dear aunt,
Thank you for a great surprise - a VASE. I love this thing becouse I am a gardner. It is very nice with many flowers in it. It is a really nice match with my colourful flowers. I think that is a very very nice and unique gift for me.
Now I am thinking what can I give you. Maybe you are a cook so I can buy you knives. Maybe you are a soldier so I can buy you a gun, or you are just an ordinary person who is very humble and you doesn't want anything. I will try my best to please you.
But I anyway will send you a gift. I know something perfect and just for you.
Best wishes,
Andrej Bergant

Dear aunt,

I'm writing you about present. This year you sent me a trumpet. I hate
it but I didn't throw it in the trash. Of course I appreciate that you haven't
forgotten about me. Next year I would like a little money. With that I
will buy a lot of things I don't have.

SANTA CLAUS

One day Santa Claus came to Ljubljana. There were a lot of lights. Children were very happy to see him. I was happy too. He had a nice red-white coat . He had a lot of presents on his sledge. He had toys, books, clothes and candies.
There was a boy who was sad. Santa Claus saw him. He stopped his sledge and called the boy and gave him a brown teddy bear. The boy took the bear and he smiled. Santa Claus vas happy because he helped a sad boy. Then he went to visit other places to make other children happy.

HOLIDAY WITH ANA
It was August. My best friend Ana came to me on holiday. In the evening we were watching TV and then we went to bed at about 10 o'clock. But we didn't sleep. We had a conversation about school but then that conversation changed to laughter. We were laughing a lot. My parents didn't sleep bacause of us. Then at about 3 o'clock we finaly fell asleep.
The next morning, my brother came to my room at about 7 o'clock. And then we woke up. Oh no!!!!!! We were so tired. We only slept 4 hours. My parents laughed at us and they were asking us: Why are you so tired?
But then we were OK, because we went to the cinema.
This was the most tired and the best holiday with my best friend Ana.

A story by Urša and Ana

SURVIVAL
One winter night I (Urša) was travelling by train with my friend Ana. We were sleeping when suddenly the train started shaking. We were totally terrified. We were turning over and over the hill. Down the hill there was a river. It was very deep and long. I and my friend were lucky that we saved our lives. We were waiting for somebody who survived this accident, but then we found out that we were the only passengers who survived. We were exhausted, so we fell asleep.
Next morning we heard a voice. It was a plane! We were so happy, but the problem was, that the plane didn't see us, because there were trees everywhere. We were hungry so I remembered what my sister told me about fishing. We made a spear. Ana was really good at throwing the spear so, she hit a fish. We roasted it on the fair and ate it.
It was very cold, so we made a little house on the tree. There was much warmer than outside. We wanted to fall asleep, but we were hungry, so we roasted a fish again. Suddenly we heard a helicopter! It found us, that is why we were so happy, but very exhausted. When we came home, our families were really happy to see us.
This is a story about our adventure.

EXTREME SURVIVAL

On a beautiful Saturday morning I was walking in the forest, when I saw a bear. A bear attacked me and hurt my leg. Then I shot him in his head. It fell and I fell asleep exhausted. I lost a lot of blood. Next morning I got up and saw a helicopter. They were looking for me. I quickly made a fire, but It was too late. I made a shelter and I was thinking about how I could come home. Then I tried to walk home but I couldn't. Later I saw the helicopter again and they saw me! The incredible adventure was finally over.

TURKEY
One day last summer I was travelling by plane.
I was with my small brother Maj and my father. We were travelling to Turkey in Istanbul. Suddenly we saw beautiful mosque. We were in Istanbul for five days. We spent a lot of time sightseeing. We stayed in a beautiful oriental hotel and enjoyed tasty Turkish food. My favourite food was kebab.
The time passed very quickly and we returned to Slovenia by plane.
