A story by Ajla

SPECIAL DWARF
Once upon a time there lived a dwarf called Poki. It wasn't an ordinary dwarf, he was something special. It was afraid of flowers. One day a family Hudgens went to the shop and saw a beautiful dwarf. They bought it. But they didn't know that this dwarf was afraid of flowers.
When a baby girl named Britney saw it she was thrilled. She played with Poki inside during the day. But in the evening she put it into the garden and went in the house to have dinner. Then Poki realized that it's in the middle of flowers, so it decided to escape into the house through a window.
In the morning Britney started to cry, because she couldn't find her dwarf. The family was looking for it all day. Next day they found Poki in the house, so they apologized to their neighbours because they had thought they stole the dwarf. The family was wondering what was wrong with the dwarf. So they took it to a vet to check it. A veterinarian found that the dwarf was afraid of flowers. Then the family realized why Poki had been in the house. Now Poki is located in the kitchen to decorate it.

A TRIP TO PROVENCE

Last summer my family and our relatives went to Provence. Provence is a landscape on south of France. We travelled by our car. We visited four countries, a lot of cities, and some beautiful villages. We stayed in six different hotels. In Provence we stayed for ten days.
We didn't visit just Provence, we visited Monaco too. I most liked Monaco and lavander's fields in Provence.
Lavander's fields are very beautiful and they are the most famous feature in Provence. Almost everywhere we drove we saw them.
The most beautiful town I saw was Rousillion. It is ochre colour and it is on the hill. They excavate ochra in near hill. It is very colorful city with a lot of shops and a lot of little bars. The streets are small and narrow. On the top there is a square with church.
We saw Parc naturel regional de Camargue too. We drove by boat Tiki 3. We saw a lot of horses and brown herons.
I most enjoyed in Monte Carlo. It's a very nice and rich city with a lot of expensive cars. It has a big palace and we saw changing of the guard. We had fun. We saw the aquarium too.
After an expensive lunch we visited the greatest casino in Europe - Casino Monte Carlo. In front of the casino there were a lot of expensive and sport cars. We saw some famous people. We spent a realy good time in Monte Carlo and we didn't want go home.

ALIENS

It was a normal day in a small town called Škofja Loka. A boy was playing with his friends. They were playing football, when suddenly one of them saw something in the sky. It was a spaceship and it was flying straight to them. They ran away, but the boy fell over a branch. Aliens flew to him. The boy was afraid and they were very ugly. When aliens came to him, he sneezed at them. Aliens were starting to shake and slowly started turning to dust. Everybody looked at him and the boy was very happy because he saved the town from aliens. Journalists were coming from all over the world to see and interview him. He became very famous but he still behaved like a normal boy and almost every day he played with his friends.

My journey around the world by Mira

Around the world
I decided that I will go across the world with my friend.

EUROPE
First we cycled to Italy, to Rome. We saw Amphitheatrum Flavium and we ate real Italian pizza. It was delicious. Next week we took a plane to Etiopia.

AFRICA
We landed in Addis Abeba. Beautifull city with friendly people. They have interesting culture. Then we went to Somalia by jeep. In Kismaayo we took a kayak and we rowed to Pemba Island. It took us a week. After three days we went to Madagascar by boat. There we met some people. Two of them wanted to go with us. Me and my friend agreed. We took a plane to India in Antananarivo.

ASIA
We landed in Mumbai. In Slovenia there was winter and there was summer. When we landed it was rainning. We were very disappointed. Next day it was rainnig too, so we decided we will move to Australia.

AUSTRALIA
We came to Sydney. It was Christmas time but there was sunny and warm. Me and my friend were surfing. It was exciting.
We spent two weeks here. Friends from Africa decided to go home by plane. So me and my old friend took a plane to Cuba.

CENTRAL AMERICA
We landed in Havana. Many people there are poor but they don't think that. They think Europeans are all rich. Cuba is a real paradise. Me and my friend spent here more time then we planned. After a month we took a boat to Canada.

NORTH AMERICA
We came to Toronto. We slept in a hotel. Next day we went to Greenwood Avenue by bus.
We decided to visit my relatives.

Gilmo's day
Once upon a time in a jungle lived a small monster called Gilmo. It had blue fur, blue eyes, two small ears and a long tail. Because its family did not live with it, it was very lonely.
Every day Gilmo woke up at five o'clock. For breakfast it ate small spiders and flies. Then Gilmo played with snakes and cockroaches. Its best friend was an anaconda.
Every day at 3 o'clock it had lunch and then a long nap. Gilmo never ate dinner, it only drunk plant oil. At midnight Gilmo went to bed. Its favourite lullaby was a strange voice from the jungle. Gilmo dreamt almost every night about its family. Gilmo missed its family a lot and every morning it woke up in tears.
This is Gilmo's day and each day is the same, even today's.

They all loved each other until somebody called Gustavo came to that place and started to cut down the trees. He cut trees becuse he wanted money. The people didn't know where all the trees were because Gustavo cut them at night. And then this little girl Barbara saw him and she started to talk about him. In this country all the citizens started a resistance against him. Then they sent him far far away, and he never came back. Now all the trees grew back and there is peace again.

MY TRAVELLING STORY
Hi. My name is Ana and I'll describe my travelling story.
At first I lived in Škofja Loka, Slovenia and I really enjoyed living there. I had a lot of friends. When I was 12 we moved to Barcelona, Spain. I liked the town but I didn't know anybody so I spent most of time at home with my brother and parents. I had to speak English everywhere. Luckily we were there just during the summer holidays so I haven't had any problems with meeting new people in school. But we moved again and there became problems again…
After 2 months living in Barcelona we moved to Vienna, Austria. I spoke a bit of German but not good enough so I had to speak English again. I got new friends very fast but I didn't like the town because it was too grey. I've been at international school so I had Enlish lessons. At first it was very difficult to understand everthing but it got better and better. I got on very well with my schoolmates. Some of them were French, some of them were British and there was also an Asian, from Japan. Nearly two years passed and we had to move again. I was very unhappy because I had a lot of great friends. But when my dad told me where we were going I wasn't so unhappy anymore.
We moved back to Slovenia, this time to Koper. I enjoyed living in home country but it was different. When I was a foreigner everbody helped me but this time I had to help the others. There are a lot of immigrants from Italy, so we had to help them living in a foreign country. It was a very good experince, at home and in other countries. I miss my old friends a bit. I hope we won't move again because I really like living here.

ABANDONED VILLAGE

It was a sunny day. One of the hottest this year. But not for me. I was resting in the shadow of an old tree. And suddenly the shadow was gone. I looked up and I did not see the leaves. That was very strange. I looked up again and saw something strange- it was a blue light. I do not remember anything else.
I woke up in a village. It was dark and dirty. It looked like it was abandoned. I decided to find a church. It was nearby. I walked in and found a trapdoor. I opened it and climbed down the ladder and found people. They were terrified. They told me their sad story. I travelled back in time (it was year 829). They were under attack. Evil king destroyed their village and they were hidden here for weeks. I decided to save their village. We climbed up the ladder and looked around the village. Noone was here, so I told them they can rebuild the village. I even helped them. And in 3 months a lovely village was made. When the village was completely repaired, a strange blue light sent me back. But the old tree wasn´t there. I found a small village.

A book review by Matjaž

Some time ago I read a book by Arto Paasilinna. The title was "Dedu za petami". I read three books by this author, but this one was the best. The main character was a grandfather who got tired of listening to his wife, so he ran away. He went on a long journey acrros Finnland. He had many interesting adventures. The grandmother was afraid for him, so she sent her grandson after old man. The grandson followed in his grandfather's steps, but couldn't catch him. In the end, he found his grandfather and they tavelled together before they returned home.

MOVING TO AMERICA
It’s already been a month since I moved from Slovenia to NYC. I remember how nervous I was, when I got on the plane. I was also very excited and happy because I knew I was starting a new life there. It had been quite a big change for me, because I've lived in Slovenia my whole life and New York is very different. It’s a lot bigger and busier and louder. I live in a nice, small flat near the Central Park, so I can hear the busy traffic all day and night.
I still don’t know many people here and I feel a bit lonely. The only people I know are a few of my neighbours and my boss. I work in a small comic bookstore near my home. It’s right at the end of the street. Inside, there are hundreds of shelves and stands filled with old and new comic books. There are also some action figures for sale in the corner. I spend a lot of time reading the comic book because there’s not many costumers during the day. Most of them come in the evening.
Every morning, I go jogging in the Central Park. The first time I went there, I couldn’t believe how bit it was. There are so many trees and small paths leading the way between them. I almost got lost there one time. In the middle of the park, there’s a big lake. It’s beautiful. I can’t wait until summer, so I can spend hot days near the lake and dip my feet in the water.
I moved to New York full of expectations and dreams and they all came true, so I’m very happy here. I rarely miss home, though I will never forget it.

I LEFT MY HOME

When I was a child we lived in Slovenia. I had a lot of friends and I liked my school. Then when I was 12 my parents decided to move to Germany. It was really shocking for me and I was sad. I had to say goodbye to all of my friends and I knew I was never going to see them again unless we came back to Slovenia. My parents told me that we are going to Germany in March. So three months later all my things were in the boxes and we were ready to leave. It was really hard at first. I didn't know anybody, I didn't understand the language they were speaking and I missed my home. But after a while I've got used to it. We've been here for 3 years now. I've got some new friends and I've learned their language. It's much easier now, but sometimes I still think about Slovenia. My parents promised me that we're going to visit our relatives in Slovenia, so I'll be able to see my friends again. Sometimes I wonder if they still remember me. I send e-mails to my closest friends every weak, but it isn't the same.
It's true that I really miss my friends, but life here is very good now. I like this town and the people are nice. Who knows, maybe I'll stay in Germany when I grow up.

NIGHT BOARDING ON STARI VRH
I like boarding with my friends. When we had winter holidays my brother Lenart, my friend Lenart, his brother Blaž and I went to ski resort Stari vrh. We really enjoyed ourselves, but time went too quickly. We went to drink tea in the cottage on top of the ski resort. It was 10:00 pm, when we came in. We didn’t know the lights of ski resort switch off at 10:15 pm. We stayed at cottage too long and the lights on the top of the hill were switched off, but we didn’t know that. When we drank our tea, we left the cottage. We stepped out and we saw a dark night without any lights. We had to come to the bottom of the hill, where Blaž and Lenart’s father was waiting for us. We didn’t see anything, but we started our scary but really exciting boarding. We were boarding in the dark and suddenly we saw the light at the end of the ski resort. They were still shining and we felt better after that. We came to the end and we were happy that everything ended great.

When we finally arrived, we ate and drank something. Then we went to the beach where we swam, sat in the sun, had fun and played cards. A few hours later we went for a walk around the town and then we went to lunch. It was already half past seven when we went swimming for the last time. We had our fourth school dance on 14th March and it was organized by the ninth grades. We come at half past five. Many of our classmates have already been there. When it started it was crazy fun. Music was okay because DJs were Edi and Anže. To eat and drink, it was enough. Then come more pizza and we sold the lights. It was soon over and we went home. I think that was the best dance of all.

On Thursday 14th March, nine-graders at our school organized their fourth and the last school dance. The dance was well attended. The majority of upper class pupils came. The party was great and the DJ's music selection was really good. Even the light effects were such as in a real disco club. A good snack and drinks were also arranged. It is also important that with the entrance fee pupils collected quite a lot of money. With this money the school helps to organize trips for students. School dance was a real success. We can only say that we recommend it and advise all schools if they still don’t have it to allow the organization of such activities. It is fun and beneficial at the same time.

A few of days ago I and my grandparents went to visit their friends in Prekmurje. It was very early when we left Kranj where my grandparents live. We drove on the highway for a long time. They served us delicious cookies. They have many cats too. I played with the youngest. It was very funny because it was falling all the time. I asked them if I can take cat home. They shouted:"Of course you can!" I was so happy. When we left the friends they gave me a big chocolate and they wished me a lot of fun with the cat. We sad goodbye and drove home. It was in February. Me and my family went to Terme 3000 in Moravske Toplice. I was very happy, because we had winter holidays in school. My aunt and her family went with us. We lived in an apartment. The weather was bad. There was 20cm of snow. It was snowy and rainy. We swam, dived and went down the slide. Mum and dad went to sauna every day. My cousin is younger than me and my brother and he can’t swim. He had arm bands for swimming. There were a lot of different swimming pools with very hot water. Our holidays went so quickly and we had to go home.

HORSE RIDING
During summer holidays mum surprised us by horse riding. We were all so excited, but I was the most. I always wanted to ride a horse. I couldn't wait for this day. And finally the day came. My mum woke us up at 7.00 o'clock. I got dressed and went into the car. When we were all ready we started our adventure. We finally came to the ranch called ''Barba Tone''. I saw the horses they were so cute and friendly. Some men prepared us for riding, and when we were ready we started horse riding. After 2 hours, we come back to the ranch. Then we looked after some other animals. Suddenly we got into the car and drove home. Now our adventure was over. It was amaizing and I'll never forget that day.

A journey around the world
First I went to Great Britain. In Britain I saw the London Eye, Big Ben and English Parliament. Then I went to Spain. There I saw La Sagrada Familia and fottball stadium Santiago Bernabeu. From there I flew to Canada. In Canada I saw beautiful Victoria falls and CN Tower. I went to Alaska. There it was too cold. So I went to Australia. There I saw a lot of dangerous animals: cobras, crocodiles, spiders, sharks. I saw frendly animals too : koalas ,cangaroos, wombats, emus. I went to New Zealand. There were a lot of kiwis. That is a small bird with wings, but it can´t fly. I flew to Japan. In Japan I saw Tokyo. Tokyo is the biggest city in Japan. Then I went home. When I came home I was happy to be home.

My journey around the world by Polona

My journey around the world
Yesterday I came back from my journey around the world and I decided to write a journal.
I started my journey early in the morning. I drove to Venice and stayed there for two days. During my stay I got together with my pen friend, who showed me the city and some of the sights. It was hard to leave, but I had so much more to see. In the evening I flew to Paris, the most romantic city in Europe. The hotel I stayed at was small but clean and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best, so I didn’t go to the Eiffel Tower. The city made me breathless, especially The Champs Elysees. I stayed in Paris for five days.
My next destination was the capital of England, London. When I was there I was robbed. Someone stole my wallet but luckily I didn’t have my passport in it. However, the city was beautiful and full of history so I wasn't bored.
After a week in London I jumped on the plane and flew to New York and stayed there for 4 days. I'm never going to forget the lights in Times Square and the view from the Rockefeller center.
My lifetime dream came true when I rented a car and drove all the way from east to west coast. The in some of the states I stayed for a couple of days. When I arrived to Chicago I continued the road trip on Route 66. The states that I liked the most were Ohio, Chicago, Oklahoma, Santa Fe, and Los Angeles.
From there I flew to Auckland, New Zealand. The nature of the country was very inspiring.
I couldn’t go home without visiting Sydney, Australia. The city is a mixture of different cultures and nationalities and I very liked it there.
I didn't go China because the weather was horrible. I flew directly to Moscow, Russia and from there I went straight home.
Overall it was an amazing experience and I think everyone should do something similar if it's possible.

DEADLY CAKE

Meet the twins- George and Martin. Their surname is Devil and as the surname tells us, they are really horrible. They are always in trouble. Yesterday it was a really special day in their family because it was their father's birthday. And when somebody has birthday in their familly they always bake him a chocolate cake. And yesterday was no different. But yesterday mum allowed the twins to bake a cake. But something went wrong. When it was time to add sugar they added salt. When it was time to add butter they added mayonaisse and when it was time to add chocolate baking powder they added- oh my god!!!- black pepper. Then they were laughing too much and their mum came downstairs. But George said that Martin told him a funny joke and that is why they were laughing. When the cake was ready they decorated it and then they waited for father. But the twins said that they must do their homework. Of course they were lying because they knew what would happen when father ate a piece of cake. So they could just wait. But finally father came home from work. When he came to the house, of course everyone wanted to congratulate him. But first he asked where the twins were and if they did something wrong today. But mum said that they were upstairs doing their homework and that they were good today. And then she said to him that he must eat a piece of cake before others. He really tried it but the next moment he was spitting it all over the floor. When he drank a glass of water he started to shout: »What kind of cake is this?! Are you trying to kill me?!« but mum said to him that the twins prepared the cake not them. And after this, father knew what was going on in this house.

About Friendship 2

Writing about friendship
Friendships are some of the beauful moments that happens in our life.
When you have a good friend you are full of energy, you have someone to talk to and you have someone to laugh with.
But for good friendship you need a lot of time .
In my opinion the most important thing in friendship is honesty.
You can't be friends with someone who lies to you all the time .
I dont like people who think and care just for themselves.
Usualy you have some really close freinds from your childhood, because friendship is based on everyday moments that bring you closer each day, but sometimes some people who you have just met, turns to be in the right place at the right time with who it fells naturally to be your friend.
I think, that it is very important that you do nice things for a friend every day.
For example you : help him to do homework,
go buy him icecream,
help him when he is in trouble
….
What am I trying to tell you is that with friendship there is a lot of obligation,
but there are twice of happy moments for sure too.
I like my friends and I am ready to do anything for them.

My favourite TV show by Martin

REVIEWS – TV
Every day at 6.30pm I watch a very interesting series called Ultimate survival. This series shows us how to behave in the wild. Bear Grylls and his team (Bear and cameraman) are sent into the extreme places with extreme weather and extreme conditions as Alaska, Siberia, rainforest, Sahara desert,…
Bear Grylls was serving in the British Army where he learned about life in the wild. He has already climbed the highest mountain in the world - Mount Everest (8848 m).
This series is very interesting because they show us how can we find water in desert, make fire with wood, find and catch food (fish, rabbit, snakes,…) and how to prepare it for eating. For me the most interesting thing is, when he makes a shelter.
Don t miss it! Every day at 6.30pm on Discovery Channel!

A new life

A new life

I moved to Rome four weeks ago. Me and my family left our old house in Slovenia. At first I was lonely, because I left my school, friends, neighbours. I think, that it is a great chance of a new life. I met a new friend called Vincenzo Benito. Rome is a very beautifull city. My new school is great and the teachers are nice. I am learning Italian. I am very interested in learning about Italian history. Everyone is so nice to me. Sometimes I go shopping with my new friends and chat with them. I really like walking in the streets at night. I am having a great time. I hope we won't have to move again.
