NIGHT IN A TENT
Last summer my frend Luka and I went camping in the forest. It was a sunny day and we strarted to build a tent . While I was busy building the tent Luka found a small trap. We didn't know what we could do with it so we left it alone. It was getting darker and darker so we went in to the tent. Soon we fell asleep.
In the middle of the night we woke up and we heard strange noises . It sounded like an animal. We were scared and we were shaking. Then I got up and left the tent . I went where the noises come from. I came to the trap which Luka found. Then I saw where the sounds came from.
A little rabit was caught in a trap.I helped it to get out but his leg was hurt and I took it to the tent. We were tired so we fell asleep immediately. Next morning we helped the rabbit and went home. Nobody belived our story but we had a great night.

An interview by Aljaž

Were you born in Škofja Loka?
-Yes I was born in 1947, near a bakery. But now the bakery doesn't exist anymore. I heard that some robbers robbed and destroyed it.

What was life like in Šk.Loka in those day?
-It was very beautiful, clean and the people were very friendly and nice to each other. The town was always full of people. My father worked in a factory and my mom in a bakery that was very large. They used to work from seven in the morning to six o´clock in the evening. Sometimes my neighbour watched over me.

What do you particulary remember about that time?
-I loved boxing in that time so I decided to go and try it for myself. I really enjoyed the trainings, and I won most of the competitions in that time. In boxing I also met my wife, working in a training sport centre.

-Do you think children were happier when you were young?
Yes, I think they were. We didn´t have computers or TVs. We played together all the time, often in the street. We didn´t worry about all the things that young people worry about now.

Yes, I was born in 1936, at home. The house still stands there.

-WHAT WAS LIFE IN ŠKOFJA LOKA LIKE THOSE DAYS?

My father died, when I was 6.

We lived on a farm. We had cows, sheep, pigs, hEns and a horse.
I loved ridingf a horse. When I was 8, I fell off a horse, during the horse run.

-WHAT WAS IT LIKE AFTER THE WAR?

It was great. We were very happy. During the war,German soliders came many times.
Children were wery afraid of Germans. We were very happy, when the war ended.

-DO YOU THINK CHILDREN WERE HAPPIER WHEN YOU WERW YOUNG?

No, I think, that our life was bad and modest. We had little clothes and no toys.

An interview by Jure

Interview
This time you will learn about life before modern technologies. The name of the person is Matej Klješčik.
When and where were you born?
I was born in 1940 in a small village.
What was your childhood?
Well, we weren't very rich, in fact, we were almost poor. We had a small farm, with not many crops and animals. I had to work on fields almost every day. Sometimes my friends were little jealous of my father's wooden objects. He even taught me how to do almost all of them. Ahh. I still remember those days clearly.
What did you think about televisions, computers... ?
Hmm. When all these new things arrived, I was a grown man. Before that, I thought that nothing like that exists. Now I can see how much the world has changed. I sometimes think that these things are almost irrelevant to me and my friends. I don't know. Maybe we shouldn't be spending so much time behind the screens but more outside and at friends' houses.
Would you want to be born in this century?
I am not sure. Well, I think that if I could choose betwen this and the 20th century, I would rather be in the 20th century. I just don't understand today's kids. They do things that I or none of my friends would do. Yes, I would definitly choose my century!

MY BEST DREAMS EVER

Ten o'clock. I was very tired, so I decided that I had to go to bed. In five minutes, I fell asleep. »Hello!« said somebody behind me. There were my classmates. They had no bags and nothing. »Where are you going?« asked a girl. I didn't know. I was just a trash in another world. »I'm late, I think. I must go to school,« I said. My classmates were laughing. I had no idea why. I asked them. »There is no school,« said one of the boys. »There is only fun in this world.« In this moment, I was so happy. Like summer holidays I thought. A long period without bad moments and fear of exams. I liked that world, I really liked it so much. And then I woke up. I don't know why, but I just woke up and the dreams were gone forever. I went to school and forgot my dreams.

A BAD DAY
The clock rang at seven o’clock but I didn't get up. I woke up but I fell asleep again. I got up at nine o’clock and I remembered I was late in school. I came to school at ten o’clock and my teacher was very angry with and I was sad. Then I had maths. We wrote a test and I didn’t know a lot. I was in a bad mood but I remembered my best friend had a party today. I smiled and went home. I didn't look where I was walking and I fell. I broke my leg and I was in hospital all afternoon. It was a really bad day.

Volleyball
In our village we have a volleyball court. It was a Friday, it was ten o´clock in the morning when my neighbour Grega called and asked me if we could play a game of beach volleyball. Of course I said »Yes«. I was interested in who would be playing with us. He told me that Jan, Aleš, Miha, Jošt, Erik and Gašper. When we met on the field, we divided into two groups and the game started. My team lost by only one point. After finishing the game, we were thirsty, so we drank some juice.

My favourite book by Katra

My favourite book is Slumdog Millionare. It was writen by Vikas Swarup and the movie based on this book won eight Oscars.
The story is about a boy Ram Mohamed Thomas. Ram wins a television quiz and gets 1.000.000 rupees. This is very unusal becouse he never went to school and read the newspaper and he knew all the answers. So the police arrested him. Then he told a story how he knew all the answers; he told how hard his life was, what he had to do and why he went to TV quiz. At the end of story he tells how different his life is now when he is rich.
You must read this book, even if you've already watched the movie. It's much better than movie and it's very easy to understand and easy to read. When I started reading I couldn't put it down. It's the best book I ever read.

They think they are smart, inteligent and important, but in reality they are very stupid and limited. They constantly compete with people which are called Tepenjčani, because they want to be smarter and more advanced. The story is hilarious, not too long and I like it.

The Best Time Ever
It was a very hot and sunny summer day, when my family decided to go on a trip. We woke up very early and started our way to Gardaland. That is a theme park in Italy. We drove for about 3 to 4 hours. My family is quite big so, it wasn't boring. We arrived to the parking space at about 9.15. It was a very hot day so we knew that we will enjoy it. We got our express tickets so we didn't have to wait very long in the queue. One of my favourite attractions was the Atlantide. We took a ride with it in the middle of the afternoon, because we were very hot. We went back to the car at about 6 o'clock. When we drove home everyone fell asleep, because we were all very tired.
Now I dream about our trip almost every night since we came back. It was the best time of my life and I hope that we will do it again.

FOREST ADVENTURE
Last summer my friends and I had an interesting adventure. We went camping in the Kočevje forest. The forest there is very old and thick. At night there are no lights and you can only hear some animal noises. My friends and I like to play that we are explorers of new territories. One day we went hiking in the forest. We walked for three hours, when we heard a noise in the bushes. My friend Andrej shouted; »A bear!«. We were all very frightened, so we hid behind some trees. My friend Tilen fell into a hole and couldn't stand up. He was screaming that the bear will get him. We told him to be quiet and lie very still. We waited for a long time. When the forest was quiet again we came out from our hiding places to see what had happened to Tilen. He hurt his leg. Andrej took his backpack and we helped him to walk back to our camp. The next day when we talked about our adventures we discovered that no one saw the bear. Maybe there was no bear. Maybe it was just a deer or a rabbit.

MY FAVOURITE SHOW
My favorite show is a musical show X Factor. This show started recently and is very interesting to watch, as people in Slovenia show their talents in singing and the jury decides whether they will continue to sing or will be gone from the stage. I have seen three auditions and I think that is very interesting. The funniest scenes are when some talents come to show and can not sing. When I see these people I think I too can go and sing in the show. This show includes four auditions, semifinals and finals. Do not miss this show, it is great. This show is every Sunday at eight in the evening on POP TV.

MY FAVORITE BOOK
Veliko srce by Nejka Omehen is the best novel I've ever read. It is very interesting and a thick book. When I started reading, I couldn't put it down, it was very exciting and full of new experiences. The story is about a fifteen-year-old Lara, who lives in an orphanage and sees its future in design school. But her plans are destroyed by Uncle Leo, for who she was unaware, and he takes from the orphanage into his house and she even goes to high school and she has to live in a dormitory. Dreamy and artistic Lara is sad and lonely at first, but soon finds that she is not bad. She befriends a sick aunt and finds friends, maybe even love. From this story you can learn how to be patient and friendly with everyone. You can borrow this book in the school library or buy it at the bookstore. It is a very good book!

A minute to victory
This show is played in Slovenia. It is on channel POP TV. Its leader is Bojan Emeršič. This show is very intersting. There are of a lot of games. There is an audience in the studio too. The player is chosen in public. He brings his family with him to watch play and that is most intersting for me.One game is about balloons. You must blow three balloons with your mouth and balloons mustn't fall down. It is very quick and stressful game. Each level which is harder than the last one. Someday I want to be in that game and try how good I am.

SCHOOL NEWSPAPER

In school we have our newspaper. Two weeks ago we went on a skiing trip to Cerkno. At 8.00 we gathered at the school. Then we went by bus to Cerkno. Teachers distributed ski passes. Then we went skiing. We were divided in 6 groups and in every group there were about ten students. We skied for about 4 hours. Because skiing is very hard and our legs hurt a lot, we went to a restaurant and ate chips and chicken stakes. Then we continued skiing for two more hours. When our ski passes expired we put our gear in the bus. The trip was very nice and interesting. We came home at about four o'clock.

MY DREAMS I was riding a deer in a dark forest, when I saw three boys. One of them had a pistol in his hand. He pointed the pistol in the deer. Suddenly he shot. He didn't hit the deer, but he shot me. I fell off the deer. The deer was very scared and it ran away deep in the forest. The boys were laughing. They wanted to see, if they shot the deer. They came close to me. One of them screamed, when he saw what he did, but I did know who. The same boy took the mobile phone and he called the rescuers. The other two boys ran away, because they thought that would go go to the jail for this reason - they shot without a licence. The rescuers arrived and they took me to the hospital. I looked around, then I saw blood in my arm and I thought somebody realy shot me. I look on the other side. I saw a boy. I knew him a long time. I remembered that he shot me in the arm, but I knew that was an accident. We arrived to the hospital. They took me in the operation room. The operation lasted for two hours. The boy waited in the clinic's waiting room. He was very scared. At last they allowed him to see me. When I woke up I saw him sitting near my bed. I was very happy to because I was alive. He said he had to go and ge turned to the door. Then I called his name. He turned to me and I gave him a hug and a kiss. Neža Demšar, 8.a

JOURNEY ROUND THE WORLD

If I had enough money to travel around the world, I would visit the place where Mayas lived . I would look round the piramids and inside them, because I'm interested in their history and their buildings ,they were so inteligent.
Then I would go to Egipt and spend some time there too. Most time on vacation and the rest of it for looking around famous pyramids.
I would love to go to Australia too, and spend some time in the wild. They say that it's good if you are already in Australia to visit Sidney and look at the Sidney Opera House.
And in the end I would like to go to China and walk on their famous Chinese Great Wall , and spend some time shopping in their markets. I don't know why but I will. I think because of low prices.
I think that's the most of it. You may have your favourite places too, and I think you would spend some time for looking round each one of them.

JOURNEY AROUND EUROPE

My journey around Europe started in Italian port Savona. We decided to travel by ship.
On the first day we went to Rome where we saw the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum and Spanish Steps. But it was a rainy day, so I wish I could go there again.
The second day was time for Sicilia. There wasn't much to see but we walked through town anyway. I remember there was very good ice cream.
The third day we spent on ship and had a lot of fun.
Day four was my favourite – Barcelona. We spent whole day there, but we only saw Gaudi park, Camp Nou and Sagrada Familia because the city is very big. I would like to go there again, to see the other sights too.
The last day before we went back to Savona was the island Palma de Mallorca. It was a beautiful sunny day. And I liked it because there was a lot of time for shopping.
Then we went back home. I enyojed the trip and I would like to go there again with my friends someday.

In this part Harry's mortal enemy Lord Voldemort returns and one of his allies murders Harry's favorite teacher and headmaster of the school- professor Dumbledore. Strange Daydream
It was a quiet evening when Ann and her friend Didi drove home. They drove along a forest road and it was already quite late. They talked and listened to music of their favorite singer. It was a long but quite pleasant ride. They decided to stop for a moment and ate yesterday's sandwiches. But when they wanted to continue the trip the car no longer wanted to start. Their heart began to pound. They were frightened and lost. They did not know how to solve the situation. They went through the dark forest to find someone who might help. They became afraid that they were lost in the woods, so they returned to the car. Long time no one came by. Then they saw the lights in the distance. They didn't know who was approaching. They were scared again. It turned out that it was only a car that came to help them. While they were in the woods, someone noticed an abandoned car and informed the police. The police then called the car club mechanics. They repaired a small engine defect pretty quickly. They were happy that they could continue their trip home. Meanwhile, their favorite singer played loudly again from a car stereo.

Childhood memories

IN CONVERSATION WITH PETRA BREGAR

Were you born in Kranj?
Yes, I was born in Kranj in July 1972, in hospital. But I lived in Škofja Loka.

What was life like in Škofja Loka those days?
Not too much different from now. Maybe there was less traffic and there were not so many shops. Where there used to be meadows there are houses now.

What's your most vivid childhood memory?
I remember when president of SFRJ, Maršal Tito, was driving through Škofja
Loka. I was standing near "Nama" and there were a lot of people with
flowers and flags. He was going to Dražgoše. I was very young but I felt
something important was going on.

What were schools like at that time?
Not so different as today. But I thing that we had more respect to the teachers as now.

We spend our first 2 weeks on trecking around some of the highest mountains in the Ands. Than after that we went to see some other things like Matchu Pitchu. And the last week was spent in a log by the Amazon river.
Our last journey so far was to Moroco. Moroco is a country that lies close to Gibraltar. In Moroco it was wery hot. We went to see some cities and Sahara as well. We also tried some tasty food and drinks. And the last week was spent on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean.

VOLLEYBALL MATCHES AND CREAMCAKE

Last month we had two volleyball matches at Bled. My coach promised me and my team if we won both matches she would buy creamcakes for us. We were very happy and we said we must win both matches. Finally Sunday came and we drove to Bled. At ten o'clock the first game started. First we played with Žirovnica. We played very badly so we lost the match. We were very sad and we didn't get creamcake. After the first match we had another match. We played with ACH Volley junior. We started badly, but then we played better. But we didn't win and our coach was very angry. She thought we won both matches. We dissapointed her, but we were happy, because we thougt we played good, although we could play better. My parents came to watch the matches and supported my team. My father said we really could play better but he was proud of me anyway. That day my parents went on a trip to Bled. We don't go to Bled many times, but when we go there, we always eat creamcakes. That Sunday me and my parents went to Bled, so we had to eat creamcakes. When we finished the matches, me and my parents went in a restaurant and I got a creamcake. I was realy happy.

Slovene football team
In the year 2008 Slovenian football team as usually started to play in qualifications for the football world cup in South Africa.
Their first game was against Poland. Poland was leading 1:0 when Slovenian Zlatko Dedić scored a goal for a draw in Poland which was a good score against a very good team. The next game was against Slovakia in Ljudski vrt. Milivoje Novakovič scored two goals and we beat Slovakia 2:1. A month later we competed in Belfast in Northern Ireland. We were trying to score a goal for 80 minutes, then in a moment everything changed, again Milivoje Novakovič scored a goal and Zlatan Ljubljankič a few minutes later. After a good start of qualifications, the football was a first thing to talk about in Slovenia. But when you expected too much there goes wrong. Slovenia lost in Czech Republic, drew in Ljudski vrt and lost in Northern Ireland. We thought that the dream of South Africa was over, but then Slovenia started to grind the oponents. First we beat San Marino at home. Then the Poland team came to Slovenia, and we had to win. Slovenian football team beat Poland team with a score three to null. The next game was against Slovakia. Slovaks needed only one point to qualify into the world cup, but our plans were different. Valter Birsa scored an amazing goal from more than 25 meters, and later Nejc Pečnik. We beat them 2:0 and coach of Slovenia Matjaž Kek was very happy, but we were still far away from the success in Africa. We beat San Marino 3:0 and if we wanted to go to Africa cup directly, Slovakia had to lost or draw in Poland. That didn't happen, so Slovenia went in qualification playoffs. Slovenia got a strong Russia. The first game was on artificial gass in Moscow. Russia was leading 2:0, then Nejc Pečnik scored a goal for Slovenia. Slovenia needed a score at least 1:0 to go to Africa. In the forty-third minute Zlatko Dedič scored .
Slovenia made it into the world cup in South Africa.
